Turning it all off

The other day I said to a 22year old USC student, “you can see it on my Facebook”, she said “I deleted my Facebook, all the people I want to talk to are close by, I see them all the time, if we want to talk, I just call them”.

Wow.

And here I am, trying to be cool by being on Facebook while the wired-Google generation is jumping off the wagon.

I’m tired of social media. I’m tired of my iPhone, checking my email all day long. Im tired of Netflix, of AppleTV, Fios and the rest.

Plus, thats probably about $200/month maybe more, i could be saving.

I do miss seeing pictures of my sisters in Nicaragua, so that seems to be a real use for fb. It all seems that business pages are important to keep.

I miss people, I miss not knowing what happened a minute ago in a thousand different ways. I miss not caring about nonsense and information overload, I miss getting a DVD at the store and watching regular TV.
