All of us long to reach our perfect destiny, a life of joy, peace, a nice home, a great family. But how do we get there when we find ourselves in a dead end job and bills to pay or a weary body?
God tells us that people of destiny must often travel though a path of surrender. People who truly want to live outstanding lives of peace and joy, will need to trust God during trying times.
Phillip went through a terrible experience on the way to his destiny. He was pushed out of his city, persecuted by Saul, almost killed yet God had his hand on him the whole time.
The Bible says in Acts 8:4-8
“Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. For unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was much joy in that city.” Acts 8:4-8, ESV.
Phillip had no way of knowing that his destiny was on the other side of his discouragement. That his joy was on the other side of this injustice.
We need to wait on God’s timing to reach our greatest destiny and to know that though may be facing challenges today, tomorrow God’s victory will come.
