Are you ready for what’s next? The problem with perfectionism is that we think its a badge of honor or that if you’re not a perfectionist, you are lowering your standards.
Instead, the opposite is true, perfectionism keeps us from being our best selves, keeps us from accomplishing our God-given Adventure and finding grace through crisis.
You might say, what’s wrong with being a perfectionist? It makes me better, here’s what’s wrong:
Perfectionism is fear turned inside out
In business you say, my product is not good enough, in marriage you say, my husband is not making enough, with your children you say, they’re not doing all they should do, when it comes to your body you say, I’m not working out 7x week, I should just stop.
Here’s why perfectionism is a problem:
- It puts up walls with people
- It’s feeding your fears
- It’s wasting your time
- It stalls your learning process
I’ve dealt with perfectionism my whole life, letting it affect people, allowing it to keep me down and most of all keeping me from my own dreams.
Let my story remind you that you can follow your God-given adventure, you can find grace in crisis, you can discover who you love. I am living proof.
Thank you for listening,
