Something crazy happened today. About 10yrs ago I lost my wedding band, not only was it beautiful, white and yellow gold, smooth edges, engraved, with leaves around the outside, but it obviously meant a lot to me.
I lost the ring while on a run, I had lost some weight so the ring slipped off my finger without me knowing it, it was so sad. But today Rachelle found it, can you believe it?!
She was getting home, got out of the car and saw something shiny buried in our front yard. It was the ring! Unbelievable. You know how many times I’ve mowed that area, recently I even dug out the grass to plant new seeds, all along the ring was in there; for ten years!
Rachelle and I have now been married for almost 20yrs. Both of us feel blessed by our love and God’s grace, so when she found the ring we hugged and kissed just thankful and we received it as a sign.
No matter how many times you or I may think something is lost – that dream you once had, that marriage you longed for, that future you thought would come, God can bring that and MORE (in our case 20yrs of happiness and three amazing children) into your life when you least expect it.
I hope this story encourages you to know that as the prodigal once said, and as your son, your daughter, your husband, your mom or dad can also say, no matter the odds or what the doctor may say, no matter your past or what your fear may tell you, I ONCE WAS LOST BUT NOW I’M FOUND.
Now that is what I call #AWESOMEGOZO!
