How do you find the right music teacher? When it comes to learning an instrument, you have to find a teacher that fits you in the following:

1.Your learning level
2. Your learning syle
3. Your music goals
4. Your budget and schedule

Let me explain.

#1 Learning Level. Means you want to have a teacher that is not so far ahead that he/she can’t relate to you
#2 Learning Style. Are you wanting more book learning, more playing, a combination of both? Do you learn by doing, listening or both? See how your teacher is, if he/she has a learning style you don’t learn from, change teachers
#3 Music Goals. Is your goal to learn theory, play in a band or fine tune. Be clear about your goals and explain them to your teacher
#4 Budget and Schedule. Ask how long and how much, your classes have to fit your schedule, so be clear about it

Here is another great resource on finding a teacher for children. Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for being here.
