Welcome back. You belong here.
Earlier this week, I went a week long prayer retreat, it was amazing. What did learn while there? Did God speak to me and most of all can He do the same in you?
During my time away, God revealed one big truth – “lead from love not anger”. Wow! That’s pretty in your face right? But that’s how God speaks because He knows what we need.

“With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home.” Exodus 15:13
Perhaps you want to love better but you also deal with anger, resentment and hurt. You want to love your family, your children or ministry but you realize there are blocks to that love, you deal with what the bible calls one of the “7 Deadly Sins” from Proverbs 6:16–19:

  1. luxuria / Lust
  2. gula / Gluttony
  3. avaritia / Greed
  4. acedia / Sloth
  5. ira / Wrath (Anger)
  6. invidia / Envy
  7. superbia / Pride

Which is your main deadly sin? And how do we overcome it?
A tool I used to help me in this is Richard Rohr’s book “The Enneagram – A Christian Perspective”

Confession is the pathway to a life of love and grace in the kingdom of God. There is no other way.

In this episode of the #TrigPodcastofJOY and Pastor Trig’s Daily Devotions, I talk about 7 tips to lead from a place of love not anger, they are:

  1. Accept that love comes through pain
  2. Use symbols, images and stories to remember what you love
  3. Love comes from God above
  4. Love has an antagonist
  5. Love is for others
  6. Confession is the pathway to love
  7. Love yourself
